The Maryland Troopers Association

 

The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  
 
 

 
 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 


1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

  • Death Notification - Mr. John G. Reider, Father of Capt. Brian K. Reider

    We regret to inform you of the death of Mr. John G. Reider, father of Captain Brian K. Reider of the Strategic Planning Command, on June 22, 2014. Our thoughts and prayers are with Brian and his family at this time. The following obituary information has been made available from the Reider family:
     
    On June 22, 2014, John George ?The Plaster Man? Reider of Perry Hall, a lifelong self-employed plaster contractor in the Baltimore area, who followed in his father?s footsteps, a diehard Baltimore Colts fan, avid Ravens, Orioles, Jeff Gordon, and Baltimore ice hockey fan, who loved rock fishing on the Chesapeake Bay, passed away at the age of 85. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Mickey) A. (nee Becker) Reider, devoted father of Sharon Lynn Ledoux and her husband Gregory and Brian Keith Reider and his wife Julie, also survived by four grandchildren, Kathryn Nicole Ledoux, Jonathan Gregory Ledoux, Taylor Ashlyn Reider and Heather Alexis Reider, loving brother of Stanley B. (Dick) Reider, Russell M. Reider, Lois I. Reider Berg, Raymond G. Reider and the late Donald W. Reider, and many nieces and nephews.
     
    The family will receive friends at the Lassahn Funeral Home, Inc., 7401 Belair Road, Baltimore MD 21236 on Monday, June 30, 2014 from 2-5 & 7-9 PM. A Christian Wake Service will be held at the funeral Home on Monday afternoon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Fullerton), 8420 Belair Road, Baltimore MD 21236 on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at 9:30 AM.  Interment will be at Gardens of Faith Cemetery, 5598 Trumps Mill Road, Baltimore MD 21206. Contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.

    Maryland State Police Fallen Heroes Ceremony will held in the MSP Quadrangle at MSP Headquarters, Pikesville, Md.  A luncheon,  provided by the Maryland Troopers Association, will follow the ceremony.
