The Maryland Troopers Association


The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  

 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 

1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

    We regret to inform you of the death of Dr. Frank G. Kuehn, Retired Department Physician, on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Kuehn family at this difficult time.  The following obituary information has been reprinted from the Rucks Funeral Home website.

    On August 19, 2014 Dr. Frank Gustav Kuehn age 89; beloved husband to the late Elaine Agnes Kuehn of 61 years; cherished father of Sharon and Ken Morgan of WV, Kathy Elaine Saxon of MD, Darlene Ann Brigham of CO, Deborah and Dean Eatedali of CA, Christine Nagengast of PA, and Donna and Eric Winstead of FL; adored grandfather of Christopher and Natalie Eatedali, Kristen and Adam Tisdall, Kelly and Jayson Parker, Erin and Michael Evans, Ken Morgan III, John and Pam Brigham, Patrick and Jennifer Brigham, Lauren and Elizabeth Brigham, John and Josh Nagengast, Erica and Laura Claire Winstead; loving great grandfather of Taylor Elaine, Reese Holly and Piper Maren Tisdall and Dylan Leon Eatedali; devoted brother-in-law of Allen C. Hohman Jr. and his wife Carol. He was truly loved by all his family and friends.
    Relatives and friends may visit the Ruck Towson Funeral Home 1050 York Road (beltway exit 26) on Friday, August 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. There will be a celebration service of Frank’s life at a later date to be determined. Private interment at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be sent in Frank’s name to Edenwald 800 Southerly Road Towson, MD 21286 or Ascension Lutheran Church, 7601 York Road, Towson, MD 21204.
