The Maryland Troopers Association

 

The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  
 
 

 
 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 


1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

  • Death Notification - Craig M. Hollinger - Son of Retired PCO II Marvin Hollinger

    December 16, 2014

     

     

    We regret to inform you of the death of Craig M. Hollinger, son of Retired PCOII S. Marvin Hollinger on December 14, 2014 following a lengthy illness and hospitalization.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Marvin and his family and friends at this very difficult time.  The following obituary information has been posted from the Carroll County Times.

     
    Craig Marvin Hollinger, 49, of Westminster, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at the University of Maryland Medical Center. 
     
    Born August 3, 1965 in Westminster, he was the son of Janet Bixler Hollinger and S. Marvin Hollinger of Westminster. He worked as a Scale House Operator for Buffalo Construction and was a Dump Truck Driver. 
     
    He was a 1983 graduate of Westminster High School, was a member of the VFW Post No. 467 Men's Auxiliary where he was in the pool league, Moose Lodge No. 1381, member of the Maryland Troopers Association Lodge No. 20 and Zion United Methodist Church, where he helped with the youth group, and Zion United Methodist Men. He also coached in the Girls' Softball League. 
     
    In addition to his parents, he is survived by brother and sister-in-law, David G. and Suzanne Hollinger of Westminster, nieces Taylor Ann Hollinger of Waynesboro, Pa., Riley Grace Hollinger of Westminster and a nephew Evan Grant Hollinger of Westminster, aunts and uncles, Dolores and Raymond Bankert, Vivian and Bob Seipp, of Westminster, and Betty Bitzel Mikesell, of Emmitsburg. Also survived by special friends Michael and Connie Harris of Westminster, David Dix of Westminster and Craig Mann of Spring Grove, Pa., and numerous cousins. Pre-deceased by aunt, Carol Head, and uncles, Guy Wolf, Eugene and Raymond Hollinger. 
     
    The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster and at the church on Thursday from 10-11 A.M. 
     
    Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, 2716 Old Washington Rd., Westminster, MD 21157, with his Pastor, Rev. David Carter-Rimbach officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 
     
    Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church or the at www.diabetes.org.

    Maryland State Police Fallen Heroes Ceremony will held in the MSP Quadrangle at MSP Headquarters, Pikesville, Md.  A luncheon,  provided by the Maryland Troopers Association, will follow the ceremony.
