The Maryland Troopers Association

 

The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  
 
 

 
 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 


1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

  • Death Notifications - Retired D/Sgt. Donald R. Chipley and his wife Lorraine

    August 26, 2015

     

    We regret to inform you of the deaths of Retired D/Sgt. Donald R. Chipley, Sr. on Friday, August 21, 2015 and his wife of 49 years, Lorraine, on Sunday, August 23, 2015.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Chipley family at this difficult time.  The following obituary information has been reprinted from the Stalling Funeral Home website.

    Donald Chipley, Sr., 70, died Friday August 21, 2015, with his family by his side.
     
    He was born July 4, 1945, in Baltimore Maryland.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force and then followed with a decorated 22-year career with the Maryland State Police.  He was very proud to serve both his community and country.
     
    He was a loving husband to his wife of 49 years, Lorraine Chipley.  He was a loving father to his son, Donald Chipley, Jr. and a devoted grandfather to his grandsons.
     
    Mr. Chipley is survived by his son and his spouse, Donald and Christie Chipley, Jr; and 2 grandsons.
     
    A memorial service will be held Friday August 28 from 3-5 and 7-9 at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena Maryland.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Critical Care Unit. 
     
     
    Lorraine Chipley, 70, died peacefully Sunday August 23, 2015, with her family by her side.
     
    She was born April 29, 1945, in Baltimore Maryland to Joseph and Mary Cermak. Her father worked at Bethlehem Steel. Her mother raised 4 children after his death in 1952.
     
    She was a loving wife to her husband of 49 years, Donald Chipley, Sr.  She was a loving mother to her son, Donald Chipley, Jr. and a devoted grandmother to her grandsons.  She worked as Administrative Assistant of Personnel for the State of Maryland until she retired in 2009. 
     
    Mrs. Chipley is survived by her brother, John Cermak; her son and his spouse, Donald and Christie Chipley, Jr; and 2 grandsons.
     
    A memorial service will be held Friday August 28 from 3-5 and 7-9 at Stallings Funeral Home in Pasadena Maryland.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center Critical Care Unit.
