The Maryland Troopers Association


The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  

 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 

1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

    We regret to inform you of the death of Donna Mae Tracey, mother of Retired Captain Gary Tracey, on August 3, 2016.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Gary and his family at this difficult time.  The following obituary information has been reprinted from the Ruck Funeral Home website.

    On August 3, 2016, Donna Mae Tracey (nee Howard) of Lutherville, beloved wife of Amos "Buzz" Tracey, devoted mother of Gary Tracey and Gregory Tracey (Linda), cherished grandmother of 5 grandchildren, Daniel Tracey, Matthew Tracey, Meredith Lott (Nathan), Hana Tracey and Laurel Tracey.

    Born to Charles E. Howard, Sr. and Sara Howard (nee Cranston), the proud owners of Howard's Florist on York Rd. The loving sister of the late Charles E. Howard, Jr. Enjoyed working alongside her parents and brother at the family owned Howard's Florist for many years. Also dedicated employee of Radebaugh's Florist for 14 years.


    In her early years she worked as a candy striper at Union Memorial Hospital and was a committed member of the Baltimore Figure Skating Club at Carlin's Park. A proud graduate of Towson High School, the class of 1953. Married to her loving husband, Buzz for 63 years.


    Upon retirement in 1997, she enjoyed riding on her John Deere tractor around her residence, antique shopping, but most of all spending time with her family and friends.


    A Funeral Service will be held at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc. 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26) on Monday at 10:30 AM Interment St. James Church Cemetery, Monkton (My Lady's Manor). Friends may call on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 PM. If desired contributions may be made to Lutherville Vol. Fire Dept. , 1609 Bellona Ave., Lutherville, MD 21093.

    Maryland State Police Fallen Heroes Ceremony will held in the MSP Quadrangle at MSP Headquarters, Pikesville, Md.  A luncheon,  provided by the Maryland Troopers Association, will follow the ceremony.
