The Maryland Troopers Association


The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  

 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 

1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

  • 2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

    October 24, 2016


    The Maryland Troopers Association would like to thank all the organizers and participants who made this year's participation in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event such a wonderful success.  A special thanks to Lt. Robert Hare for his management of the event and preparing the following report. 
    On Sunday October 23rd 2016, the Maryland Troopers Association team participated in the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 5K run/walk in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  Over the last 4 years, the team has raised over $28,000 for breast cancer treatment, research and awareness.  
    Each year the team honors a family member who has been diagnosed with cancer.  This years Survivor Shield recipient is Sherry Cummins, the loving wife of F/Sgt Rob Cummins.  On hand for the presentation were co captain/ 2013 recipient Nancy Armiger and 2014 recipient Amy McDonald.  To honor the memory of Tonya Webster, our 2015 recipient, the playing of taps was performed during a moment of reflection.  
    As in the past, several awards were presented.

    The Maryland Troopers Association team was also recognized as the team with the most participants and was given a banner to hang during our tailgate.  This is the 4th team award/ recognition the team has received in four years.
    Special thanks to the Maryland Troopers Association for funding the team tailgate.  Retired Major / DJ Nick Paros and master chef Lt. Tim McDonald again for providing food and entertainment.
