The Maryland Troopers Association

 

The Maryland Troopers Association was organized in 1979 for the purpose of advancing the principles of professionalism in law enforcement and to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between employees and the Administration concerning issues of mutual concern.  This Association contributes significantly to protecting the security of troopers, civilian MSP personnel and retirees by providing a benefit package that addresses legislative representation in matters of public safety, legal representation, education and training scholarships, and death relief.

The year 2017 membership of the MTA stands at approximately 2,629 of which 1,120 are active members and 1,509 are retirees.  To facilitate the effective management and participation of our members, the MTA has 13 Lodges located thoughout the State of Maryland.   Please visit our lodges section for more detailed information concerning the lodges.  
 
 

 
 To Register as a new user on the Maryland Troopers site, follow these steps: 


1. Mouse over the "Troopers Only" tab and a drop down menu will appear. 

2. Click on "Register". 

3. Fill out the information requested and submit.

4. An e-mail will be sent to your registered e-mail address to confirm that it is legitimate.

5. Follow confirmation instructions  

6. The webmaster will check your status and complete the authorization process.  

7. In the future, Click on "Log In" under the "Troopers Only" tab and use your new Username and Password whenever logging in.

  • Death Notification - Margaret Sue Hoffman, wife of the late Retired 1/Sgt. Donald E. Hoffman

    Regret to inform you of the death of Margaret Sue Hoffman, wife of the late Retired First Sgt. Donald E. Hoffman on 8/30/17.  Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time.  The following obituary is reprinted from the Eline Funeral Home Website.
     
    Margaret Sue Zebec Powers Hoffman, age 68 of Finksburg, died peacefully Wednesday August 30, 2017. Born May 7th, 1949 she was the loving daughter of the late Margaret Fowble and the loving mother of two sons; Joseph Daniel Zebec, III of Rising Sun and Eric Powers of Westminster. She was the loving wife of the late Donald Eugene Hoffman of Finksburg, MD of 26 years. She worked as a paralegal. She enjoyed time with family, friends, her grandchildren, and walks with her brother. She enjoyed the ocean, music, art, animals, cooking, gardening, flowers, and traveling.
     
    She is also survived by her brother Bill Fowble of Upperco and sisters Beverly Bryant of Oakcrest and Kathleen Heiss of Upperco and grandchildren Joey Zebec and Ashylnn Zebec and Reagyn Powers and Rylynn Powers.
     
    Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home, 11824 Reisterstown Road (at Franklin Blvd.) on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 & again from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.  Service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Interment in All Saints’ Cemetery.

    Maryland State Police Fallen Heroes Ceremony will held in the MSP Quadrangle at MSP Headquarters, Pikesville, Md.  A luncheon,  provided by the Maryland Troopers Association, will follow the ceremony.
