  • Retirement Celebration - Captain Kelly Testerman

    After 22 years and 8 months of dedicated service to the citizens of Maryland and to the Maryland state police, Captain Kelly Testerman, Commander of the Professional Policing Division will retire from the Maryland State Police. Captain Testerman's retirement will be effective March 1, 2012.  Captain Testerman extends her pride and gratitude for the many friendships and working relationships that contributed towards a very rewarding career as one of Maryland's finest!

    The MSPAA Florida Social will be held on March 9 thru 11 in Tampa, Florida in 2012. We will be in the same motel we were in during the last trip to Tampa. It was a Holiday Inn, and is now a Clarion - here is their address: Clarion Hotel & Conference Center (FL975), 2701 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa, FL, US, 33612. Phone: (813) 952-2501, Fax: (813) 977-0155. Map/ Directions The Clarion is handling our hotel reservations through the Group Sales Department rather than the regular reservations desk. Reservations can be made at any time now. Call 813-952-2501 and ask for Sharon, I think she only works 9 – 5 Well, Ray and Sandy Andrews have done it again - they have negotiated a great deal for us for our annual jaunt to Florida. Ray says that Sandy learned a lot with respect to negotiation while atttending dinnner last year in Al Capone’s restaurant. Ray said that he noticed Sandy was spending a lot of time with Big Al, and it appears to have paid off for us. Here is the Group name and other info you will need to make your reservations. Entertainment Saturday after dinner starting at 8:00PM til 9:30 PM in the Palm Room - FREDERICK AND COMPANY - Frederick and Company is comprised of vocalist, saxophonist and flutist Paul Frederick, and his brother Mark Frederick on Trumpet. Their repertoire spans a wide range of musical styles and includes songs of:50’s, 60’s and 70’s; Rock n Roll: Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, BB King, Elvis, various Blues, and Big Band Sounds. Sounds like a great venue to me. The mixing of vocals, instrumentals and the wide variety of styles makes their performances interesting while satisfying many differing musical tastes. Frederick and Company is perfect for events ranging from black tie affairs to the most casual. Hospitality Room: The Hospitality Room is located on the second floor, Parlor 2126. There is an elevator near by. The Hospitality Room will have to be closed on Friday during dinner from 5:30 to 7:30 and on Saturday from 5:00 to 9:30. The hotel requires all beverages be purchased from them during catered events. Prices: Friday night BBQ, Saturday night dinner and entertainment is a total of $55.00/person for all three Friday night BBQ only - $25.00/person Saturday night dinner and entertainment - $30.00/person All prices include tax and gratuity
